Characteristics

SELAMIX LAJES is a waterproofing agent, supplied as a powder, in gray color, developed for application on slabs with rustic surfaces, which do not present structural problems and are not subject to cracking. SELAMIX LAJES is easy to apply, just mix water in the correct proportion. It has great yield per m². After application, SELAMIX LAJES becomes part of the surface. Accepts any type of coating when applied horizontally. For vertical coating and finishing, a technical evaluation of the project must be carried out to verify that the product meets the necessary requirements.

Use

SELAMIX LAJES is indicated for waterproofing slabs without subfloor, terraces, balconies, marquees, concrete gutters, window contours, water mirrors, floors and walls in cold areas: bathrooms, kitchens and service areas.

Composition

Portland cement, mineral fillers and special additives.

Performance

Consumption of SELAMIX LAJES is 3 kg per m², and 3 coats must be applied, that is, 1 kg per m² per coat.

Storage

It should be kept at room temperature, in a dry and ventilated place, on pallets.

Shelf life

In its original unbroken packaging, it has a shelf life of 24 months.

Packaging

Plastic package or bucket with 18 kg.

Surface preparation

Clean the surface properly, completely removing loose particles or concrete burrs. The surface must be firm and in good condition, free from dust, grease, mold, mildew or any other contamination that could prevent the normal adhesion of the product. In areas soiled with silt or old concrete, wash well with a brush or high pressure washer. On calfined surfaces, remove 100% of the area. Do not apply SELAMIX LAJES directly on materials with a surface or layer that contain petroleum derivatives, such as: paints, varnishes, asphalt emulsion, asphalt blanket, glue, resin-based waterproofing agents and others, in which case it is necessary to remove them 100% of the area. Never apply SELAMIX LAJES on slabs that have subfloor or cement cream, which must be removed, applying SELAMIX LAJES directly on the concrete of the slab. Do not apply SELAMIX LAJES on smooth surfaces or surfaces with burnt cement, if necessary, 100% of the area must be chipped. For horizontal surfaces, it is important that there is at least 0.5% slope for rainwater runoff. Imperfections in the concrete must be previously corrected with mortar. If there are fissures, cracks, expansion joints, repair them with ELIMINETRINCA first. On walls, with rising damp, remove all plaster at a height of 1.2 m from the baldrame, apply SELAMIX LAJES on the bricks and plaster again, leaving a distance of 1 cm from the floor and fill with SELAMIX LAJES.

Product preparation

Calculate the surface to be waterproofed. Dilute the product in approximately 40% of clean water, that is, 2 liters of water for 5 kg of product or 7 liters of water for 18 kg of product. Mix the product with a mechanical stirrer for 3 to 5 minutes to obtain a dense, lump-free liquid mass. After mixing, let the dough rest for 15 minutes before starting the application, beat again and after this period beat the dough every 10 minutes. Prepare only the amount to be used in each coat, the remainder cannot be used for the next coat. For application in large areas, prepare only the amount of product that you can apply in a maximum period of 1 hour.

Application

Wet the surface well with water, avoiding puddles. Apply SELAMIX LAJES with a broom, passing 8 to 10 times in the same place in an elongated way to close the pores and better compact the product. Once prepared, SELAMIX LAJES must be applied within a maximum of 1 hour. Subsequent coats should be done in the same way, wetting the area and applying the broom repeatedly over the product. SELAMIX LAJES must be applied in cross coats with an interval of 6 hours between applications in normal conditions and 24 hours in humid places or subject to trampling during application, or wait until the product has surface resistance. Do not apply on surfaces with a temperature above 22ºC. Keep the applied area in wet curing during the coats and 48 hours after the last coat is finished, spraying water with a high pressure washer or covering the surface with a plastic sheet. Drying after the last coat is 48 hours of good weather and full cure is 28 days. In water reservoirs for human or animal consumption, wash the surface three times, using water and a multipurpose brush, and discard the first load of water. In fish ponds, check the pH of the water before use.

Comments

Apply SELAMIX LAJES in uniform layers. Excess material applied in corners, depressions or irregularities can cause product cracking and waterproofing failure. Because SELAMIX LAJES is a semi-flexible waterproofing agent, if any cracking occurs in the slab, it may cause the waterproofing layer to break, requiring maintenance in the area that has infiltration problems with ELIMINETRINCA. In areas subject to traffic, wait for at least 5 days to cure after application and perform mechanical protection with a subfloor.

Cleaning

Equipment and tools can be cleaned with water while the product is not dry. After drying, clean the tools mechanically.
