Corrects small imperfections on the walls, making the environment more beautiful and pleasant. Odorless, non-toxic product, presented in white color, with excellent adherence, resistant to alkalinity, giving it excellent durability.

Use

ARGAMASSA ROMANA is indicated for applications on masonry walls and ceilings with straightened plaster. It can be applied in internal and external areas.

Composition

Portland cement, selected mineral fillers and special additives.

Color

White

Performance

Average consumption of 2 kg per m² in the two layers, which may vary according to the porosity of the place to be applied and type of application.

Storage

It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and ventilated place, so that changes in its initial characteristics do not occur.

Shelf life

In its original undamaged packaging, it is valid for 24 months.

Packaging

Plastic package with 20 kg.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be firm and in good condition, free of moisture, dust, grease, mold, mildew, loose particles or any other contamination that could prevent the product from adhering normally. Plasters must be at least 14 days old. Any cracks must be stabilized. If you have a problem with rising damp, you must first waterproof it with SELAMIX products. On painted surfaces, deep sanding must be done, removing the paint layer, allowing the product to anchor in the cementitious base.

Product Preparation

Calculate the required amount, dilute 20 kg of ARGAMASSA ROMANA in approximately 30% of water, i.e. 6 liters in a clean container, mixing preferably with a mechanical mixer for 5 minutes, until obtaining a pasty mass without lumps, ideal for application. Once prepared, the product should be applied within a maximum of 1 hour.

Application

Wet the wall to be applied, with a brush or spray gun, etc. Application should be carried out at temperatures between 10 and 30° C. Do not apply in strong sunlight. ARGAMASSA ROMANA must be applied in two layers.

  • First layer: ARGAMASSA ROMANA must be more diluted, and applied with a steel or PVC trowel. The layer must be uniform covering the whole area, avoiding flaws on the surface, with a thickness between 1 and 2 mm.
  • Second layer: Wait for the first layer to pre-dry until obtaining surface resistance for applying the second. This must be applied with ARGAMASSA ROMANA diluted in approximately 22% of water, using a special spray gun, using the outlet nozzle according to the desired appearance. Open the air little by little until you find the ideal mass output volume. Compressor outlet pressure should regulate from 30 to 50 pounds. Hold the gun approximately 40 to 50 cm away from the wall. The projection must evenly cover the entire surface to be applied, taking care not to overload some areas more than others, trying to leave the flakes in equal proportions.

After projecting the mass, wait for it to pre-dry to the point that the flakes no longer adhere to the touch. Make the smoothing with a flat white steel or PVC trowel, in an X shape from one side to the other without splicing the islands, leaving them in similar formats, always with the trowel clean of residues.

Painting

Wait for at least 15 days to dry, use a broom to remove loose particles and start finishing with paint, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.

Cleaning

Equipment and tools can be cleaned with water while the product is not dry. After drying, clean the tools mechanically.
