Characteristics

ISOLAJE is a semi-flexible, two-component (A+B) waterproofing product, suitable for waterproofing masonry, concrete and lime-free mortar surfaces without any waterproofing additive. Does not require surfaces with primer or roughcast treatment. It has excellent adhesion and excellent mechanical resistance, and can be finished when applied horizontally, such as paint or subfloor. When applied vertically, it only accepts paint. It does not alter the potability of water, being non-toxic and odorless. Resists positive hydrostatic pressure. Can be applied together with a polyester blanket.

Use

It is indicated for application on concrete slabs without subfloor. It is also indicated for application in elevated concrete structures or supported on a reinforced concrete base, such as water tanks, reservoirs, swimming pools and flower boxes.

Composition

Component A: liquid, white in color, composed of acrylic resin.

Component B: powder, in gray color, composed of cement, mineral aggregates and additives.

Color

Gray

Performance

ISOLAJE has an approximate yield of 1kg/m² per coat. After finishing the application of all the coats, the thickness of the ISOLAJE layer must be uniform, to guarantee its mechanical resistance.

Planters: apply 4 coats, with a total of 4 kg/m².

Slabs without subfloor: apply 4 coats, with a total of 4 kg/m².

Water tanks, swimming pools, reservoirs, all above ground level: apply 4 coats, with a total of 4 kg/m².

Storage

It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and ventilated place, on pallets.

Shelf life

In its original undamaged packaging, it is valid for 24 months.

Packaging

Plastic buckets of 3.6 kg and 18 kg, with the total weight of components A+B.

Surface preparation

The surface must be cured and completely dry, free of: dust, oil, grease, loose or degraded parts, mold release agents, cement paste, concrete burrs or any other contaminant that may prevent the normal adhesion of the product. Do not apply Isolaje on surfaces with structural problems or where petroleum-based products have been applied. It is also not recommended to apply ISOLAJE on surfaces that contain lime and waterproofing additives. Imperfections must be previously corrected with mortar of cement and sand mix 1:3. Sharp corners must be rounded. The ambient temperature must not exceed 25°C. Before applying the first coat of ISOLAJE, moisten the surface with water without soaking it. In corners, tubes, drains and connections, it is recommended to use SANFLEX with a polyester screen for greater resistance. If the slab has subfloor, use SANFLEX. If the slab has any type of fissure, crack or expansion joint, it must be recovered with ELIMINETRINCA, before starting to apply ISOLAJE. After ELIMINETRINCA has cured, start applying ISOLAJE. Horizontal surfaces must have at least a 1% slope drop. In concrete tanks and reservoirs, before applying the waterproofing system, perform the water load test for at least 72 hours to accommodate the structure and check for the appearance of any cracks or fissures that may occur at full load to correct them .

Product preparation

Measure the surface to be waterproofed and calculate the amount of product needed according to the yield per m² and the type of surface to be treated, informed in the consumption item. Add component B (powder) to component A (liquid). Mix preferably with a mechanical stirrer for 3 minutes, or with a spatula until obtaining a liquid, dense, lump-free mass. For application on large areas, prepare only the amount of product that can be used for a period of 30 minutes, mixing the mass again every 10 minutes. Prepare only the amount to be used in each coat, not using the leftover mixture in the next coat.

Application

The application can be done with an anti-drip paint roller, soft hair broom, brushes or brushes. We recommend using a bristle broom or brush, as this improves the performance and penetration of the product into the surface. Apply the number of coats according to the type of application and yield per m² indicated in the consumption item. If there is a need to mix a smaller amount than the package, use the volume in the ratio of 2:3 of components A+B. The interval between coats is 6 hours in good weather and at a temperature of 25ºC (drying time may vary according to weather conditions). In environments with low temperature or poor ventilation, the drying time may be prolonged, in this case wait for complete drying to apply the next coat. In situations of application in confined spaces, promote ventilation. After applying the last coat, final drying takes place in 5 days, in good weather conditions and a temperature of 25ºC. When applying on larger surfaces without a subfloor, it is recommended to place a polyester screen over the entire area. Wait for the product to cure for at least 5 days before carrying out the tightness test by submitting the waterproofed structure with water for at least 72 hours, to verify that there were no failures in the application. Indoors, this minimum curing period is 7 days. In areas exposed to the sun, and areas subject to traffic, after 15 days of applying ISOLAJE, a mechanical protection must be carried out, with a subfloor or painting, in the entire area. In water tanks for human or animal consumption, wash the surface three times, using water and a multipurpose brush, and discard the first load of water. In fish farming tanks, check the pH of the water before use.
