Characteristics

FINNOTOK Putty is a cement-based product, developed to replace limestone, plaster, spackle and obtain a fine finish on walls and ceilings and in internal and external areas. Product with water-repellent properties, odorless, non-toxic, in white color. It has excellent workability, with high adhesion and resistance, excellent performance per m² and easy to apply. Simply mix water in the correct proportion and apply with a trowel or projector. After application, the wall is ready to be painted.

Use

FINNOTOK is indicated for application on masonry walls and ceilings with straightened plaster, apparent concrete, plaster, drywall, fiber cement boards. For surfaces that may suffer movement or expansion, a test must be carried out under the same conditions as the work and verify that the result meets the design requirements. It can be used for applications in decorative effects.

Composition

Portland cement, selected mineral fillers and special additives.

Performance

The consumption of FINNOTOK when applied to plastered walls is approximately 2 kg per m². The approximate consumption of FINNOTOK can also be determined in the following way: Calculate 1.5 kg per m² per millimeter of thickness to be applied. Yield may vary depending on conditions and preparation of the base.

Storage

It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and airy place, on pallets, so that changes in its initial characteristics do not occur.

Shelf life

FINNOTOK is valid for 24 months, inside its original unviolated packaging.

Packaging

Plastic package with 18 kg.

Surface preparation

Sand the surface and remove all loose particles. It must be firm and in good condition, free of moisture, dust, grease, mold, mildew or any other contamination that could prevent the product from adhering normally. Plasters must be at least 14 days old. Fill any holes or gaps with the putty and wait 24 hours for application. Very irregular surfaces or those with major imperfections, smooth them out using MASSA NIVELADORA. Any cracks must be stabilized. If there is a problem with rising damp or with the possibility of future dampness, waterproofing must first be done using SELAMIX products. On painted surfaces, deep sanding must be done, removing the paint layer, allowing the product to anchor in the cementitious base.

Product preparation

Calculate the required amount. Add the amount of water needed to prepare the product in a clean container. Dilute 18 kg of FINNOTOK in approximately 40% of water, that is, 7 liters. Add the product little by little to the water and mix preferably with a mechanical mixer for 3 minutes, until obtaining a pasty, homogeneous mass, without lumps, ideal for application. After preparing the product, beat every 10 minutes. The product should be applied in a maximum of 1 hour. For every 18kg of FINNOTOK add 7 liters of water.

Application

It is ideal to wet the surface to be applied. Application must be carried out at temperatures between 10 and 30° C. Do not apply under strong sunlight. In external environments, a layer of MASSA NIVELADORA MEDIA base must be applied, for subsequent application of FINNOTOK.

FINNOTOK must be applied in 2 to 3 coats for a smooth finish. Apply the FINNOTOK putty on the wall with a trowel, a paint roller or with a projection machine, then level it with a steel trowel. Wait 20 minutes to apply the next coat in the same way, applying the putty and leveling again with a trowel in a crosswise direction. Wait for pre-drying to apply the third coat of finish directly with the trowel with a thin layer again in reverse direction. The final thickness after applying the three coats should not exceed 2.5mm. It is recommended to sand the entire area within 24 hours after application or when the surface is in sanding condition, using sandpaper for putty. You can also give a polished finish, waiting for superficial drying to start polishing with a steel trowel. If any flaws arise after the end of application and curing of the product, these can be corrected with the product itself, using a steel trowel.

Painting

Wait for a minimum of 15 days to dry before finishing with paint, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.

MEETS THE STANDARDS: NBR 13281, NBR 13749.

Cleaning

Equipment and tools can be cleaned with water as long as the product is not dry. After drying, clean the tools mechanically.
