SANFLEX
Characteristics
SANFLEX is a flexible product, developed to waterproof masonry surfaces. It has excellent adhesion to cementitious substrates, following eventual movements, and can receive coatings, such as rubberized paints and subfloor.
Use
It is indicated for application on slabs, facades and flower pots. In reservoirs, swimming pools and water tanks, only if they are aerial. On walls other than retaining walls. In structures subject to possible movements without structural problems. Treatment of fissures, cracks or expansion joints. SANFLEX is indicated only for positive pressure applications.
Composition
Resin based on acrylic dispersion, mineral aggregates and special additives.
Color
Sanflex is supplied in white.
Performance
Consumption in 4 coats must be greater than 2 kg per m². The recommended minimum thickness is 2mm after curing. Yield may vary depending on the porosity of the surface.
Storage
It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and ventilated place, so that changes in its initial characteristics do not occur.
Shelf life
In its original undamaged packaging, it is valid for 24 months.
Packaging
Sanflex is supplied in 3.6kg and 18kg plastic buckets.
Surface preparation
The surface must be cured and dry, free of dust, oil, grease, loose particles, concrete burrs or any other contamination that could prevent the normal adhesion of the product. Do not apply SANFLEX on surfaces with structural problems and where petroleum-based products have been applied. For application in overhead water tanks, they must be cleaned and allowed to dry before application. The imperfections of the concrete and sharp corners must be previously corrected with mortar. The temperature of the surface to be applied must be less than 35°C. In the application, we recommend placing a polyester screen in the entire area. In any structure subject to movement, pipes, drains, connections and corners, it is recommended to place a polyester screen for greater resistance. On slabs with a subfloor, check that it is firm before starting to apply SANFLEX. The subfloor being loose must be replaced. On slabs, expansion joints should be made according to ABNT standards every 20m², throughout the area, with cuts of at least 0.5cm in width, throughout the thickness of the subfloor, which should be filled with SANFLEX. After 6 hours start the normal SANFLEX application process. In concrete tanks and reservoirs, before applying the waterproofing system, perform the water load test for at least 72 hours to accommodate the structure and check for the appearance of any cracks or fissures that may occur at full load to correct them .
Correction of cracks and cracks: In cracks and crevices on the floor, open and clean it with a width and depth of 1 cm. In cracks and cracks of greater depth, we recommend the application of SANFLEX in layers of 1 cm at the most, until it is level with the surface, waiting for a minimum of 24 hours to dry between them. After completely filling the joint with the surface, start applying the 4 coats of SANFLEX with polyester fabric.
Product preparation
SANFLEX comes ready to use. Mix with a mechanical stirrer to homogenize the product.
Application
Initially apply 1 coat of SELAMIX LAJES as an adhesion primer. Wait 24 hours and start applying SANFLEX, which should be done with a paint roller, soft bristle broom, brushes, brushes or airless equipment. Apply 4 coats with consumption greater than 2 kg per m². Applications should preferably be carried out in the morning, with a minimum interval between coats of 24 hours in good weather and a temperature of 25°C. Drying time may vary depending on weather conditions. In environments with low temperatures or poor ventilation, the drying time may be prolonged, in this case, wait for complete drying to apply the next coat. In the application, we recommend placing a polyester screen over the entire area, which should be applied in the second coat, applying the SANFLEX, then placing the polyester screen and again passing the SANFLEX over the screen, melting it into the product. The screen must pass 5 cm in each seam. The recommended minimum thickness is 2mm after curing. Never cover the application with tarp or prevent ventilation in the application and during the curing time. In situations of applications in confined places, promote ventilation. After applying the last coat, final drying takes place in 72 hours, in good weather conditions and temperature above 25°C. The period for full cure is 28 days. Wait for the product to cure for at least 5 days and perform the tightness test with water, submitting the waterproofed structure, for at least 72 hours, to make sure that there were no failures in the application. Indoors, this minimum curing period is 7 days. After this stage, mechanical protection must be carried out with a coat of SELAMIX LAJES or subfloor. In water tanks for human or animal consumption, wash the surface three times, using water and a multipurpose brush, and discard the first load of water. In fish farming tanks, check the pH of the water before use. For maintenance, follow NBR 5674 (Maintenance of Buildings – Requirements for the maintenance management system), which recommends checking its integrity every 1 year and reconstituting the mechanical protection, signs of infiltration or failures of the exposed waterproofing.
