Characteristics

MASSA NIVELADORA was developed with the aim of replacing plaster. Provides better attachment to the surface, greater mechanical resistance and less thickness, optimizing the total cost of the operation. It can also be applied over plaster, correcting small imperfections on the surface, leaving it polished, preparing the base to receive the layer of paint. Odorless, non-toxic product, excellent adhesion, forming a waterproof, water-repellent, alkali-resistant layer, giving it great durability. It does not have lime in its composition.

Use

It can be used directly on structural brick, concrete, masonry wall, structural concrete blocks, cellular concrete block and straightened plaster, and can be used indoors and outdoors. It can also be used to fix doors and windows, and to lay bricks and blocks in sealing masonry.

Composition

Portland cement, mineral fillers and special additives.

Color

In MEDIA Granulometry in Ice White color.
In FINA Granulometry in White color.

Performance

Yield on bricks and blocks: yield is approximately 5 kg/m².

Yield on render: the yield is approximately 1.25 kg/m².

Quantities may vary depending on the porosity and regularity of the surface to be coated and the type of application. Consumption can also be determined as follows: calculate 1.5 kg per square meter per millimeter of thickness to be applied.

Storage

It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and airy place, on pallets, so that changes in its initial characteristics do not occur.

Shelf life

MASSA NIVELADORA is valid for 24 months, in its original, unviolated packaging.

Packaging

MASSA NIVELADORA is supplied in 18 kg plastic packages.

Surface preparation

The surface must be firm and in good condition, free of dust, grease, mold, mildew, loose particles or any other contamination that could prevent the normal adhesion of the product. Plasters must be at least 14 days old. If there is a problem with rising damp, waterproofing must first be done using the leveling compound, applying the compound in at least two layers with a minimum total thickness of 5mm. After this procedure, apply the MASSA NIVELADORA over the entire area as a final finish. If the surface that will receive the MASSA NIVELADORA has holes and flaws, correct it with the MASSA NIVELADORA. On painted surfaces, deep sanding must be done, removing the paint layer, allowing the product to be anchored to the cementitious base. It is not necessary to moisten the surface where the MASSA NIVELADORA will be applied.

Product preparation

Calcular la cantidad de producto necesaria, utilizando el consumo indicado en el ítem rendimiento.

Diluir 18 kg de MASSA NIVELADORA MÉDIA en 4 litros de agua.

Diluir 5 kg de MASSA NIVELADORA MÉDIA en 1,1 litros de agua.

Diluir 18 kg de MASSA NIVELADORA FINA en 6 litros de agua.

Diluir 5 kg de MASSA NIVELADORA FINA en 1,7 litros de agua.

Mezclar preferentemente con agitador mecánico durante 5 minutos o con espátula durante 10 minutos hasta obtener una masa pastosa sin grumos. El producto debe ser utilizado dentro de 1 hora.

Application

The application must be carried out at an ambient temperature between 10 and 30 °C. Do not apply in strong sunlight. Apply the MASSA NIVELADORA with a trowel. The larger the trowel, the greater the application coverage and greater regularization of the mass. Therefore, trowels larger than 60cm in length are recommended. MASSA NIVELADORA must be applied in two layers.

First layer: The application of the first layer must be uniform, flattening the entire area, avoiding flaws on the surface. During application, mix the mass again every 10 minutes. Wait 4 hours for pre-drying to start applying the second layer.

Second layer: Apply the second layer with the same trowel, leveling and leaving a thickness of 1 to 2 mm of MASSA NIVELADORA over the first layer. Wait for pre-drying until obtaining surface resistance to start polishing, which must be carried out with a steel trowel with rounded corners. To facilitate polishing, spray water on the trowel, never on the wall. For a smooth finish, use MASSA NIVELADORA FINA, which allows sanding to be carried out within 24 hours after application, or when the surface is ready for sanding. Use sandpaper for putty. Wait a minimum of 15 days for drying to finish with paint, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.

Cleaning

Equipment and tools can be cleaned with water while the product is not dry. After drying, clean the tools mechanically.
