Features

MASSAPOP MÉDIA was developed with the aim of replacing plaster. Provides better attachment to the surface, greater mechanical resistance and less thickness, optimizing the total cost of the operation. It can also be applied over plaster, correcting small imperfections on the surface, leaving it polished, preparing the base to receive the layer of paint. Odorless, non-toxic product, with excellent adherence, resistant to alkalinity, giving it excellent durability. It does not have lime in its composition.

MEETS THE STANDARDS: NBR 13281, NBR 13749.

Usage

It can be used directly on structural brick, concrete, masonry wall, structural concrete blocks, cellular concrete block, and can be used indoors and outdoors.

Composition

White Cement, selected mineral fillers and special additives.

MASSAPOP MÉDIA is supplied in Ice White color

Yield

On bricks and blocks: the yield is approximately 5 kg/m².

On plaster: the yield is approximately 1.25 kg/m².

Consumption can also be determined as follows: calculate 1.5 kg per square meter per millimeter of thickness to be applied. Quantities may vary depending on the porosity and regularity of the surface to be coated and the type of application.

Storage

It must be kept at room temperature, in a dry and ventilated place, on pallets.

Validity

MASSAPOP MÉDIA is valid for 24 months, in its original closed packaging.

Packaging

MASSAPOP MÉDIA is supplied in 18 kg plastic packages.

Surface preparation

The surface must be firm and in good condition, free of dust, grease, mold or mildew. If you have a problem with rising damp or with the possibility of future dampness, you must first waterproof with SELAMIX. After this procedure, apply MASSAPOP MÉDIA over the entire area as a final finish. If the surface that will receive MASSAPOP MÉDIA has holes and flaws, correct it before starting the application. On painted surfaces, deep sanding must be done, removing the paint layer, allowing the product to anchor in the cementitious base. It is not necessary to moisten the surface where MASSAPOP MÉDIA will be applied.

Product preparation

Calculate the amount of product needed, using the consumption indicated in the yield item. Dilute 18 kg of MASSAPOP MÉDIA in 4 liters of water. Mix preferably with a mechanical stirrer for 5 minutes or with a spatula for 10 minutes until obtaining a pasty mass without lumps. The product must be used within a maximum of 60 minutes.

Application

The application must be carried out at a temperature between 10 and 30 °C. Apply MASSAPOP MÉDIA with trowel. The larger the trowel, the greater the application coverage and greater regularization of the mass. Therefore, PVC trowels larger than 60cm in length are recommended. MASSAPOP MÉDIA must be applied in two layers.

First layer: The application of the first layer must be uniform, flattening the entire area, avoiding flaws on the surface. During application, mix the mass again every 10 minutes. Wait 4 hours for pre-drying to start applying the second layer.

Second layer: Apply the second layer with the same trowel, leveling and leaving a MASSAPOP MÉDIA thickness of 1 to 2 mm over the first layer. Wait for pre-drying until obtaining surface resistance to start polishing, which must be carried out with a steel trowel with rounded corners. For a smooth finish, use MASSAPOP FINA. If necessary, after 24 hours, you can sand the entire surface with 180 to 200 grit sandpaper. After 15 days of good weather, you can start painting the area treated with MASSAPOP MÉDIA.

Painting

Wait for a minimum of 15 days to dry before finishing with paint, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.

Cleaning

Equipment and tools can be cleaned with water while the product is not dry. After drying, clean the tools mechanically.
